Week 4

 Weekly Greetings!

With hunting season upon us, there will be two more short weeks. This week will be the shortest with only three days due to the teacher in-service on Monday. Friday and the following Monday are considered vacation days so families can go hunting. For the reasons just mentioned the students will have the same spelling list for the next two weeks. Most of the students did pretty good on the first spelling unit, and I will send their tests home on Thursday with the end of the week work. Since our reading time is in the afternoon this year, I cannot get them scored until after school is over on Friday afternoon.

As for a few highlights from last week, our Pod classes are in full swing, and the Folk Tales and Legends class made apple cookies as a tag after studying Johnny Appleseed. They also did a great job of comparing the tales of John Henry and Johnny Appleseed as a critical think activity.  There are seven 4th graders in the class, so I have included some cookie making pictures for you to see.
On Friday, we also had six students participate in the district wide Cross Country meet. Here they are waiting for the meet to begin. Gabriel had a top time, and will be heading to a meet in Eagle this week.
Everyone else waited to cheer their classmates on as they pass by on the track.
It was hard to snap photos as the group passed by, but I got a few of the Tok 4th grade students. I am really proud of the students that wanted to participate!
Have an awesome week!
