Week 22

 Weekly Greetings!

To start with, there is a Spirit week to prepare for the Middle School Volleyball tournament this coming weekend. Hopefully, you saw the announcement posted this weekend on the school Facebook page. So here is the dress-up schedule. Monday is Pajama Day; Tuesday is Twin Day; Wednesday is Dress Wacky Day; Thursday is Camo Day; and Friday is Wolverine Pride Day. Other things planned for this week are the Wolverine Values assembly first thing on Wednesday morning, and we will have  a simple celebration on Tuesday afternoon to acknowledge the 100th Day of school. Also, we have three students competing in the Battle of the Books on Wednesday beginning at 12pm.

As for last week, on Monday the kindergarten students celebrated the Chinese New Year and went through the whole school making noise to drive out the bad and bring in the good. It was fun to see them come through our classroom.
When they came to our class, the students were busy finishing their posters for the Migratory Bird Calendar contest. I will be turning their entries in this week, and I think that some have a good chance at being recognized for next years calendar.
Last Tuesday was the yearly Spelling Bee. From our class there were two participants. I am proud of these two for taking on the challenge!
After everyone completed the three parts of the MAP testing (Measure of Academic Progress), the class celebrated in our usual way by throwing foam frisbees to the song from Madagascar "You've Got To Move It". What a good feeling to get all that testing completed! Most of the students made good gains in one or more subjects.
Hopefully it will warm up some this week so that the students can get more time outside. I think we are all tired of being cooped up!

Have a great week!
