Week 12

Weekly Greetings!

To start with, there are a number of important dates on the horizon that I need to share with you. The first is an assembly for the Wolverine Value of the month on this Wednesday at 8:30am. The next date is Monday, November 11, when there will be a Veteran's Day assembly at 9:00am. Then finally, there will not be any school on Friday, November 15, as there will be Parent Teacher conferences. We are finalizing the times, and aligning the sibling's times, so I should be sending home information by the end of the week. Also, the Book Fair dates were changed from last week, and will be starting on November 14 through the 23rd. It will be open during conferences, if you would like to do some shopping for the holidays.

Other important information that I need to relay is that there will not be any GAP this week because the main leadership will be out of town. Additionally, the school is now only providing snacks for the students on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I am in need of snacks for the class. I have been buying the additional snacks myself, and another parent sent in a box of Granola Bars, but other teachers are asking parents to help provide snacks for the three addition days per week and parents seem to be willing to help. So if possible, please send in something that could be shared with the 4th grade class.

As for last week, it was all about Halloween. We started the week carving a pumpkin that was designed by voting on shapes to make a face. The top had all ready gone bad, so a couple of the students took the time to dress the pumpkin up with some craft supplies. It was probably the most unusual pumpkin I have ever seen when they were done.
Finally, Halloween arrived and most of the students dressed for the occasion. Then the parade began, and afterward the students had voted to watch a Halloween movie while eating treats brought in for the party. Thank you for sending things in for the celebration.
Later that night, some of the students helped out at the Haunted House that seemed to be well received. I must say, we were all pretty tired the next day and missing a few students in attendance.

Have an awesome week!
