Week 19

Weekly Greetings!

For a short week, we packed in a lot of extra activities! On Monday, Mr. Dunning was in for a visit and discussed having courage to stand up to negative peer pressure. The students had not considered that before, and the concept of peer pressure was new to most of them.

Tim Lorenzini also was in for a visit on Tuesday. He helped the students get started on their Migratory Bird Calendar pictures. I was busy with four students that still needed to write their literature entry and I forgot to snap any pictures. The class will continue working on their poster entries again this week. If you have not signed the entry forms, please make time to fill them out and return them to me.

Then at the end of the day Wednesday, there was a pep rally for the Homecoming basketball games happening over the weekend. There were a couple of games that included the elementary students, and one was to try to eat an Oreo cooking off of their foreheads.  The other thing that each class could compete in was a hula-hoop activity. One of the fourth graders hung in almost to the end, but a high school student won in the end. Most of the other activities were geared more for the older students, but were fun to watch.
This week we will have a full five days, and hopefully get settled back into a regular routine again. We will be visiting our Book Buddies in kindergarten on Wednesday, and later that day the new rotation of Pod classes will start. I will also be starting Homework again this week.

Stay warm and well!
