Week 23

Weekly Greetings!

Last week, our time was filled with some special events and activities, and this week will have its share also. To start with, on Wednesday we will have our monthly Book Buddies time with the kindergarten class. On Friday, we will get some time with Shauna Lee to work on s pottery project, and then in the afternoon we will have a Valentine's Day party. Students can exchange cards and bring in treats to share. I will bring cupcakes and juice. Additionally, I will attach a class list to the parent letter to help with the card giving.

Last week we celebrated the 100th day of school on Tuesday. The students hunted for 100 chocolate kisses, made and measured two different objects trains, and build towers with 100 toilet paper rolls. After the towers were built, they had a paper tossing war to knock the towers down.
Wednesday was the Battle of the Books, and we had one team from 4th grade that participated. They did well working together, but first place went to a group from 3rd grade. The entire class went to watch and encourage the students from our class.
On Friday morning, we had a visit from a Botanist from Fairbanks that shared how worms help in the process of decomposition. The class enjoyed observing and handling the worms he brought to share.
Later that morning, the students went to cheer for the Tok Middle School Volleyball team.
I think all the students were glad to get outside for recess with the break in the cold snap last week. Hopefully that spell of chilling weather will be the last for this year.

Have an awesome week!
